I had the privilege of being in Mepco Schlenk Engineering College, Sivakasi a couple of weeks back. I was there to provide the Keynote address to the annual MCA conference held there. From the time I landed in Madurai and the journey to Sivakasi which take approximately an hour and a half and to the time I was dropped back at the Madurai airport – I was really humbled by the care given by the staff of the college be it from a fellow or a coordinator or to the HOD themselves. They really made me feel comfortable and at times I felt I was pampered like a little child.
The interactions I had with Dr. Chandrasekaran HOD, MCA department and with Dr. Muneeswaran HOD of CSE department were indeed thought-provoking. The idea of Smartail and how it was going to impact the education sector and the transformations that it would bring to the domain was well received and well appreciated by these senior veterans in the industry. My interaction with other professors was also indeed very interesting and fruitful. Last but not least the students of the institution did have the much-needed exposure of the industry and were keen on learning industry problems and solutions. I would like to conclude here by saying a big thanks to Dr. Vasanthanathan for the entire co-ordination, And my gratitude to the team of professors at MEPCO Schlenk namely Dr. Radha, Dr. Revathi, Mr. Amirtaraj and the other staff as well.
